More Rory…

Saw him in June 74 and 3 times more before he passed on

From his classic (and IMO greatest) album (1971).

That guy made his guitar talk.

Not the greatest lyricist though….

Smooth and saxy.

The late great  Dick Heckstall Smith on sax ,  Dave Greenslade on Hammond,  silky vocals  by James Litherland, (also on guitar), driven by bassist Tony Reeve and one the finest jazz drummers Jon Hiseman.

Been so long since I posted that I had had trouble finding me own blog

Anyway, since I’m here….. a classic from Keef and pals (with intro by his ex boss)

I was 16 when this album came out.  Sadly I didn’t hear it for a couple of years,  the musical  influence of my life at that time was my (now) brother in law who’s a few years older. He introduced me loads of bands – Taste, IF, Colosseum, Blodwyn Pig…the list goes on, but didn’t  include Caravan.

The drugs of choice certainly resulted in some great music…and bizarre lyrics

Nice video
